Moore Center Teaches Individuality and Self-Acceptance

May 10th, 2011

The Moore Center participated in Kadlec Regional Medical Center’s 17th Annual Safe Kids Day in Richland, WA.

Safe Kids Day brings together 30 community agencies and 200 volunteers to teach safety messages to children and their families including fire safety, water safety, substance abuse and early childhood development.  The event draws over 3,000 people annually.

The booth’s theme ‘Uniquely Me’ helped over 300 kids create ‘their unique face,’ in an effort to teach attendees individuality and self-acceptance. Using foam faces, kids and their parents created a face that was reflective of how they see themselves.
